The Wedding

On August 24, 2007, Megan and Matt were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Receptions were held in Utah and California.

Megan's Graduation

On Friday, August 17, 2007, 8:00 a.m. Megan graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in Communications with an emphasis in Advertising and Marketing. Those attending were Matt (soon to be son-in-law), Grandma Tipton, Grandma and Grandpa Jacobson, Jill, Talmage, Hunter, Marsha and John. After the graduation we had a special brunch at Magelby's. With Megan's graduation, all five children have graduated from B.Y.U.

July 4th Celebration

Marsha and I traveled from Nacogdoches to Arlington to join Jill, Zach, Talmage, Hunter and Zach's family at the Arlington 4th of July parade. The Arlington parade is the largest in Texas.

Talmage and Hunter enjoyed the clowns, police, fireman and emergency vehicles.

Timp Cave Hike Slides 6-2-07

Timpanogos Cave Hike

As part of our family vacation, we (Marsha, Megan, Matt, Tom and John) hiked Timp Cave National Monument (American Fork Canyon) on 6-2-07. Tom Tipton (Marsha's brother) just happened to be in town the same time. We began our hike at 2:30 PM and toured the cave at 4:00 PM. The mountain trail was filled with beautiful wildflowers. After the hike we spent a few moments by a small mountain stream.

Megan's Bridal Shower

On May 24, 2007, a bridal shower in Megan's honor was held at the Talbot home in Nacogdoches, TX. Megan received some wonderful gifts. A beautiful quilt was made and fun was had by all. Jill traveled from Mansfield to attend the shower.

Mike's Graduation from Medical School

On Saturday, May 19th, we (Marsha, Megan, Matt and John) drove to Kansas City to attend Mike's graduation from medical school. On Saturday afternoon we meet Mike, Kelli, Sam and Sadie at the Cheese Cake Factory (a family favorite) for a celebratory meal. Afterwords we walked the Plaza and shopped from Megan's wedding. On Saturday evening, John picked up Dave and Grandma Tipton from the airport. Sunday morning we took family pictures then traveled to the graduation. We arrived at the Kansas City Municipal Auditorium Music Hall at 8:45 a.m.--the ceremony began at 10:00 a.m. and lasted until 2:00 p.m. Uncle Dave Tipton had the privilege of "hooding" Michael. Of course Marsha and I are very proud parents! Some of Kelli's family were able to attend. We're so pleased that Grandma Tipton, Megan and Matt could attend also. We wished that all the family could have participated and celebrated in Mike's great accomplishment. After the graduation we had a light lunch at the home of Mike and Kelli. In the afternoon John, Marsha, Megan and Matt visited some of the area church sites (Liberty Jail, Far West, etc.). We returned back and played games. Mike, Kelli, Sam and Sadie will be moving to Detroit on Friday, May 25th. Mike will be completing his residency in the Henry Ford Hospital where he will work in the emergency room. Cassie Barton's Wedding

On Friday, May 18th Cassie Barton got married Jacob Lindsay in the Dallas Temple. We attended the wedding while Matt and Megan tended the children. Afterwards we took pictures then went to the wedding reception in Arlington.

The Parents meet Matt

On Thursday May 17th, we fly from Toronto, Canada with Megan to DFW airport to meet Matthew Scott, Megan's husband to be. Matt flew in from SLC to meet us and we met up around 11:00 P.M. in terminal E. The next day we attended Cassie Barton's wedding then drove to Kansas City on to attend Mike's graduation from medical school.
